All across Western Eranor these posters could be seen..
From the alleys of the Crescent Throne, the Docks of Ezna, Meeting halls of White Arden and the great frontier citadel of Diamond Shores messages of Join Arandor could be found....
Arandor...the dream of an ambitious lesser noble. Conceived to end the corruption of the Crescent Throne, a safe haven from bandits and highwaymen, a force to check the growing powers of the dark cults of Eranor. This dream was thought to have been extinguished when the great Galleon the White Rose found its untimely fate upon the seas. Without Trevelyon Devereux force of personality to hold a fragile alliance together, this upstart holdfast would not challenge the status quo. His son’s and a stalwart band of compatriots however would not see the dream they had worked so hard for die. Slowly inch by inch the Freehold of Arandor has grown, gaining land, citizens, raising its militia and building a mighty fleet. The Freehold now sets its sights on Auroria, carving from the wilderness a Colony that will be a safe harbor for any who travel and explore the far north. As the tale is whispered and retold more have come to the banner of the Dragon, to seek their fortune and a better future for the West!
FoA is the 4th incarnation of our guild, we came here with few expectations and have once again found a home in an MMO and plan to be around for some time. We started 10 years ago as the Einhasad Templars of the Lionna Server of Lineage 2. There we were the first RP guild to claim a castle and actively partook in many of the server's key events. As our time in Lineage drew to a close we moved to the Phoenix Throne server of Warhammer Online. We were part of the first sieges of the Inevitable city but that soon grew tiresome and we set our sights on Aion. There we spent several years on Israphel as the IVth Skye Lancers until life became hectic for most of us. With an open world game with many of the highlights we loved from Lineage as part of it, we felt drawn to Archeage and here we have spent time gathering land and building ourselves up, having been here a year now and going strong we have decided a more robust introduction and face lift in order for us in the 2.0 world.
Playtime and Member-base
We are predominantly west coast or west coast friendly times, however we have a growing European base and several folks with scattered schedules so someone should be around most of the time to tend the fields, man the watch, and keep a torch lit for friends and guests of the Freehold!
Role Play in the Freehold is what you make it to be. We expect our members to keep say chat as IC as possible at all times and strive to encourage our members to be IC for all their dealings in game as this creates a more immersive experience for all involved in our opinion. This being said we have no hard rules or expectations of our members on such, again, RP here is what you make it.
Activity in Archeage
Arandor strives to be competitive and complete game content. We have weekly expeditions into the dungeons of Eranor, nightly forays to finish guild quests, hunt world bosses, defend the lands from chaotic rifts, and anything else that needs doing. We conduct these activities In Character, expanding our character experiences through immersive game play.
We actively PvP, Arandor holds a writ of Privateering from the Crescent Throne to seize eastern shipping for the good of the Alliance. Arandor will also actively combat inter faction states as necessary to defend itself and regularly hunts Pirates.
Arandor has a vast merchant fleet that can be seen frequently moving cargo from one Nuian port to another. These fleets are often also used to smuggle goods out of Haranya and onto Freedich island. The Freehold also moves by land and can be seen running large caravans or providing escort into more lawless places like Hellswamp or Cinderstone.
As political tensions heightened between the Freehold and the Crescent Throne, Turalyon Lord of Arandor decided their goals would be best served far to the south. Abandoning their Aurorian colony and withdrawing the majority of their stake-hold in Dewstone the freehold left and carved out its demesne within the Daru lands far to the south of Eranor.
The posters all hold an Owl Post (http://freeholdofarandor.enjin.com/) where perspective Militia, Mariners, Merchants, or Citizens may send a letter of intent to join the Freehold. Upon reviewing of the letter an officer of Arandor will hold a brief interview with a prospective citizen and extend an invitation to come along on an expedition. If all goes well an invitation to give an oath of fealty to the hold will be extended.
